The Best Holiday Cocktails! | Melanique Babb

The holidays are among us and it is so fun! This is the time of year where I spend most of time cooking and or hosting dinner parties and events or attending dinner parties and events. What better to way to enjoy the most exciting time of the year, than with a good ole holiday cocktail! Here are some of my favorite holiday cocktails!

Peppermintinis

Peppermint bark fans, meet your match. This holiday drink is festive, cool, minty and will get you buzzed! A splash of white chocolate liqueur, peppermint schnapps, vodka and a candy cane  does the trick!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c. semisweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 1/4 c. crushed candy canes
  • 6 oz. white chocolate liqueur
  • 4 oz. vodka
  • 2 oz. peppermint schnapps
  • 2 tbsp. heavy cream
  • Ice
  • 3 small candy canes

White Christmas Margaritas

Guarantee yourself a white Christmas this year with this refreshing holiday margarita. This recipe can make a pitcher or jug of the white Christmas margarita.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (14-oz.) can unsweetened coconut milk
  • 12 oz. silver tequila
  • 8 oz. triple sec
  • 1/4 cups lime juice
  • 4 cups ice
  • Lime wedge, for rimming glass
  • Sanding sugar, for rimming glass
  • Lime slices, for garnish
  • Cranberries, for garnish

Espresso Martini

Coffee lovers can enjoy this cocktail that has exploded in popularity in the last few years. The Espresso Martini is the perfect way to get a little buzzed while also getting a bit perked up. There are only 4 ingredients (if you don’t count ice): espresso, coffee liqueur, simple syrup and vodka.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. or 1 shot espresso or cold brew concentrate 
  • 1 oz. coffee liqueur such as  Kahlúa or Mr. Black
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • 1 1/2 vodka

Cranberry Mimosas

No holiday brunch is complete without a mimosa! But this mimosa has the perfect twist, with delicious holiday cranberries added. Start with sparkling wine, then add a splash of ginger beer for spice and cranberry juice for seasonal flavor. It’s an easy twist that lets you start off your brunch right.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lime, halved
  • 1 cup sweetened cranberry juice
  • 1 oz. ginger beer
  • 1 bottle champagne
  • Fresh cranberries for garnish
  • Small sprigs fresh rosemary, for garnish
  • Sanding sugar, for rimming glass

Moscow Mules

Impress your friends with this trendy, classic and refreshing cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • 2 oz. vodka
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz. ginger beer
  • Fresh mint, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for garnish

Mistletoe Margaritas

Long story short, you’ll be drinking these everyday until Christmas! Tequila is never a bad idea and is my favourite! Serves 4-6.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c. whole cranberries
  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 12 oz. silver tequila
  • 8 oz. triple sec
  • 1 tbsp. lime juice 
  • Ice
  • 1 wedge lime, for rim
  • Mint, for garnish 
  • Sugar, for ganrish
  • Salt, for garnish

Grapefruit Cardamom Gin Fizz

Gin is the trend right now! I suggest this bright, refreshing Grapefruit Cardamom Gin Fizz. Tart, bubbly and botanical, it’s fast becoming a favorite festive holiday drink.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. rosemary syrup
  • 3 oz. cardamom infused gin
  • 1/2 cup grapefruit juice
  • Splash of prosecco, chilled
  • Rosemary sprigs
  • Grapefruit peel, for garnish
